Liverpool's perfect Champions League start is over. Andoni Iraola's side twice took the lead in Istanbul on Wednesday night but lost 3-2 to Fenerbahçe, while Arsenal and Manchester City both picked up valuable away wins.

Liverpool let two leads slip

Trey Nyoni gave Liverpool the lead in the 25th minute, but Mason Greenwood equalised four minutes later, according to Football360. Alexander Isak restored the advantage in the 69th minute, only for Fenerbahçe to hit back twice in six minutes through Archie Brown and Vedat Muriqi to win it.

It was Liverpool's first defeat in the competition this season, after three straight wins.

Arsenal hold on in Prague

Arsenal won 2-1 at Slavia Prague to move up to third in the league phase table, the club said. Noni Madueke opened the scoring nine minutes in after Viktor Gyökeres won the ball and played him in, and Gyökeres doubled the lead before half-time after Mikel Merino won possession and Declan Rice found him.

Slavia were much the better side after the break. According to Arsenal's official report, they had 17 shots in the second half, the joint-most any team has managed in a single half against Mikel Arteta's side in the Champions League. David Raya made four saves, including tipping a header onto the post, before Wiktor Nowak pulled one back in stoppage time.

Arteta said afterwards that it was very difficult to win away from home and that his side had done it against a tough opponent, AFP reported.

Haaland settles it in Leipzig

Manchester City won a five-goal thriller 3-2 at RB Leipzig. A Castello Lukeba own goal put City ahead before half-time, Baku equalised early in the second half, Enzo Fernández restored the lead and Antonio Nusa levelled again three minutes later. Erling Haaland had the final say with a close-range winner in the 78th minute, his 13th goal against Leipzig in nine matches, according to ANI.

The win was a welcome lift for City after back-to-back Premier League defeats to Aston Villa and Brighton.

Como hit nine

The most remarkable score of the night came in France, where Cesc Fàbregas' Como thrashed Lens 9-1. Real Madrid won 3-2 at AEK Athens thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Federico Valverde, after Kylian Mbappé had scored his 16th goal of the season, AFP reported.
